Features Include:
The Smart Power® fan selects the lowest cost energy option. It selects the AC or DC adapter first, the rechargeable batteries second and the 8-D alkaline batteries third.
The charging time is based on the level of charge left in the batteries and whether or not the fan is in use during the charge cycle. We recommend that you monitor the indicator lights to determine when the unit is fully charged.
Switch fan to “OFF”, connect the AC or car adapter to the fan, then plug the adapter into an electrical outlet or the car adapter into the car power outlet. Slide switch to one of these positions: HIGH, LOW, or STOP. It’s necessary to begin the sequence in the OFF position to reset the Smart Power® controller.
Prior to storage, fully charge the rechargeable batteries. Store the fan with all plugs removed and the slide switch in the OFF position.
The rechargeable batteries can operate the fan up to 5 hours under typical use and can be re-charged up to 500 times.
Yes. It takes the same amount of time to charge as it would using the wall adapter.
Turn the fan on to see if it is working. If so, there might have been a malfunction in the light switch. If the fan still does not work, the rechargeable batteries have exhausted their useful life and the fan will need to be operated with other power sources.
No. You cannot replace the rechargeable batteries.
You cannot see the rechargeable batteries because they are built in.
The batteries can be taken in a recycling station found at most electronic retailers.
Hi! I'm writing to let you know that I was FURIOUS over the false product reviews of your rechargeable 10-inch fan on Amazon. I actually bought it in spite of the 22% (or so) one-star reviews, simply because we were going to a situation where I had to have a fan for my handicapped mother. I thought the worst that would happen is I had a junky fan (based on those reviews), and I would have to return it to Amazon.
Your fan is AMAZING. It kept my mother cool for more than eight hours in direct sunlight at an amusement park with only a beach umbrella for shade. This was last week in Tennessee, where the temps reach well into the 90s.
I wanted you to know I've posted my own review on Amazon (my user name is AL Teacher) that refutes the claims that others have made. I read complaints about not holding a charge (from people who openly admitted they used it three times in six months), as well as people who wrote one-star reviews claiming it didn't charge while in the OFF position, which clearly means they didn't read the instructions.
My whole family is so impressed with your fan. Please let me know if you have any other products that need reviews. I'm livid whenever people blame the manufacturer for not knowing how to use and keep up with a product. Thank you reading my rant! :)
